RE: [TCML] Filter Choice



The biggest hazard in initial tuning of a TC is that the spark gap width may not be properly set, resulting in too-high voltages, and this is where the use of a Terry filter will save your bacon.  But if you are conscientious about properly setting the gap width before running with a capacitor, you may be OK.  And if you're at all unclear on what it means to properly set the gap, please ask!
