[TCML] asynchronous spark gap construction questions - with coil specs

I do apologize - I always forget to send my coil's specs. 

I'd like to build a ARSG for my small coil (secondary diameter 10 cm - 4
inches, height 50 cm - 20 inches powered by a 6kV 50mA NST powered; I have a
"Terry" filter). Is this a good idea? I have seen somewhere that ARSG are
tough on NSTs.

If ARSG are compatible, what motor could I use? It has to be cheap.
