Your NST may not work with a coil unless you remove the protection unit
completly. I have the new sort of FART trannies that originally had the
protection units in them as well and the coil tripped the unit straight
away. Fortunatelly for me on the FART's you can remove the unit as they are
underneath the lid. If yours has the unit encapsulated in the resin you may
be unlucky

If it is one of the *very* latest types that are quiet light to pick up and
smaller than the iron core type, then they wont work with coils whatever you
do to them apparently.

I have a newer 12/30 Franceformer,...with the built in safety features,....I
understand it MUST be grounded,..but on the 120v connections, there is a ( +
) and a ( - ) next to each  connection,.....???   Thanks for any info
