Yep ,but a single shot DRSSTC can be made to beat a Marx generator at every voltage level.

Yep, and 5 MV can do over 100 meters..
It's very, very nonlinear (something that they discovered when doing the 
first EHV power lines)

Note that those big sparks are usually from a Marx generator.
