Hi Norm,

Yes, that's the basis for a good gap design. The airflow concentrated through the arc channel, beefy copper pulling the heat away from the arcing area, and an arcing surface over a large area are exactly what you want.

My concerns with your design are:

You could probably simplify your design with a single blower with PVC plumbing and a "T".  Using PVC will also insulate the electrodes from the blower.

You want a fairly high pressure/low cfm air supply.  The squirrel cage blowers are more of a high cfm/low pressure device.  For this reason, many including myself have used vacuum cleaner motors.
