[TCML] Re: Coil pic w/ SRSG

I should also note that the motor mount is temporary. The coil resonator is on a separate piece, and my intent is to separate the PS from the resonator (right now it's sort of perched on a corner of the rolling PS platform. )

I just quickly genned up a motor mount with a 2x4 chunk and a piece of plywood that was laying around. I have already procured the polycarbonate sheets for the final motor mount. Just haven't got to it yet as I wanted to do a "proof of concept".

I'm appreciating how much tweakage is involved in these things. Have blown a couple fuses already - most interesting effect is when the phase shifter came disconnected from the motor, and the motor started winding down while the NST voltage was still applied.

Interesting resonances....thank god for the safety gaps.

Cheers,
Joe

I actually also acquired from mota.com a 1/30 hp sync reaction motor (oriental motor) upon which I will base my next attempt at an SRSG - but Alan's motor came with a mandrel and so made it easier. Cut a copper disk and epoxied it to the back of the garolite disk to short out the tungsten rods. If anyone has any methods for cutting copper sheet other than using a metal nibbler and filing your brains out, do let me know.

I merely rotated them 90 degrees to point to the rotor and used taller insulators. So I also left my squirrel cage fan, which I'm hoping doesn't hurt anything.
