[TCML] Tesla Fest 2010

A short note to thank everyone for all the help to make Tesla Fest 2010 a
resounding success! Many experimenters came early and helped with setup ---
a big thank you to Scoptt K. and all the rest of them for all their help and
kind assistance.

It was a record turnout with over 390 people in attendance. I think we
collectively set a new record as the largest Tesla Fest in the world!!
Perhaps only eclipsed by the Maker Faire.

The weather was beautiful, the coils all ran without problems, and the
swappers were busy selling and trading Tesla coil parts all day long. I
collected an antique cold cathode X-ray tube dated at 1894. Also picked up
a huge pair of 330 uF 10 kV can crusher caps in swap for some HV cable.
Mike Hardy bounded out of here with a 48 x 12" toroid promising an even
larger coil next year.

Steve Ward appeared with another truly amazing 4 kW solid state coil that
produced a world record 60 inches of spark --- all from a coil only 9.5
inches in length x 4" dia. It fired directly upward in stacatto mode to a
suspended ground plate.

Steve and Jeff Larson fired up two beautiful large coils in the evening, and
Terry Blake displayed a cool set of dual coils that played songs along with
Steve's bass driver coil.

BTW, Terry once again survived a brush with death in his Dr. Zeuss suit ---
complete this year with a new headpiece.

Mike Hardy, Jeremey, and others displayed both small and large coils all day
long --- threaded into the shop among our 24 inch dia. plasma spheres and
horizontal crackle tubes.

Bert Hickman displayed some cool new "lightning captured in acrylic" plates
he recently produced.

Thanks again guys for all the help!!

BTW, the DVD / computer disks should be ready by this Friday. Contact me
off-list please.
