The sparks are barely visible in full light, although you can hear them as a 
faint crackling. Now and then I get a big, loud one. I sleeved the + HV lead 
in vinyl tubing; that cut the arcing quite a bit. I'm afraid if I run the 
wire outside the PVC I'll just get more corona and more arcing. But maybe 
I'll try it, just for comparison's sake.

There's definite ion wind coming off the thrusters. You can feel the cool 
breeze and hear a steady sizzle as the thrusters sweep by. It's a different 
sound from the sparking, which is periodic.
