    Ruhmkorff coil works, depending on the exact definition
    of 'works'.  Dad & I built our fist coil with a 'Model
    T Ignition coil', which is basically a smallish 
    Ruhmkorff coil.  Tricky part would be finding a larger
    Ruhmkorff coil.
