RE: [TCML] Sync gap setup

Brad
What bps are you running? If the four rotating pass through the disc and the
two stationary are one either side ( 1 in front & the other behind) at say 3
o'clock then on a 1800 rpm you will have 120bps. This will suffer from
resonant rise much more than say 240bps, so your timing will need to be spot
on @ 120bps and you will definitely need John's phase controller.

Subject: [TCML] Sync gap setup

Hello,
I need some help setting up a synchronous rotary gap. I have built
several coils with static gaps. This is the first sync one. Gap is 1800 RPM
motor and four tungsten flying electrodes, and 2 stationary. Phase is
adjusted by disc position. Have built a larger MMC bank for rotary operation
per a design program. Any help on getting the phase adjusted with simple
tools would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
