Nice job, Yeah for that cap size 240 clearly isn't the way to go, 240 would be more effective for a system with enormous current draw, and/or a smaller cap. Having tried both 120 and 240 on my second coil attempt, I can kind of mirror your experience, never got much out of 240, not enough current for my big-ish cap (unless I ran unballasted, which killed a lot of transformers.) I'm sure you've posted specks before but as Gary mentioned, we would like to see construction of the device, as well as know details, power supply cap etc. Again good job!

I currently am only using the static gap recommended LTR capacitance on my 15 kV, 120 mA NST powered coil. Operating at 120 bps, the safety gap only fires occasionally. By tuning the phase using a Freau phase controller I can "switch" between 120 bps operation and 240 bps operation. It definitely gave a better output at 120 bps. Here are the videos:
