Re: [TCML] Tesla Coil Toroid for 230 watts

I used a small value tank cap of 0.0015uF, and a 4 section
multi-static gap for my 10kV, 23ma OBIT coil. The small
value cap resulted in a high break rate, and coalesced
tendril-like sparks. Using a 1.5" x 4.5" toroid produced
a single spark streamer. The secondary was 3" x 11.5"
wound with 28awg magnet wire.

Cheers,
John

Subject: [TCML] Tesla Coil Toroid for 230 watts

Hi, if anyone has built a tesla coil with a 10,000 volt 23 mA OBIT

please email me on the toroid size you used and what the dimensions of

your secondary were. I'm trying to size mine properly (for one nice

fat streamer) and I'd like some input.

Thanks.
