Switching NSTs output high frequency (~20khz) AC, which must be rectified
with ultrafast diodes for TC use. They are also fragile compared to iron
NSTs and contain troublesome protection circuitry.
You could try a TC with one, or with one or more flybacks; however beware
that SGTCs are finicky and often exhibit poor performance at low powers, as
the losses in the spark gap are too high and it is difficult to make it
trigger properly.
