NO, no good at all. You need the older heavy sort. There are three types:

Type 1: If it's big, heavy and old, and filled with tar it will work.
Type 2: If it's big, heavy and new and filled with resin, it MAY work. (like
the FART earlier)
Type 3: If it's small and light, it's no good.

Good test is to drop it on your mate's foot, if he hits you afterwards it's
either type 1 or 2.

We actually managed to get our hands on a 8 kV NST. If you look at the
attached pdf  you'll see all of its specifications (our transformer is
called "N 40/8 RC") Is this NST suitable for a tesla coil?
