Re: [TCML] DMM Question

I've bought a couple at a time when Harbor Freight has one for 3 or 4 bucks and never noticed one running on low battery yet except when forgetting to turn it off. I did blow 2 of them when checking a pig at the low side with 15k neon on the high side. when taking the probes off the connections there was a little arc and poof, so I grabbed another one and I slipped off the connection and poof again. No biggy.

Subject: [TCML] DMM Question

I have a Fluke that's prolly 20 years old and a Wavetek that's at least 15. I've read that cheap DMMs may give faulty readings when the batteries are dying. That's not true for mine.

Is there a good, middle of the road DMM that I can buy for my son, that doesn't get weird when the batteries start going south?
