Re: [TCML] loose NST posts

If both ends still work, you can take two 1/4-20 nuts and screw them on, then tighten them hard against each other at the outer end of the bolt. Hold the bolt from turning with them, then tighten the nut against the insulator with an open-end wrench. Then be careful not to tighten anything on it too much. This has worked well for me.

Subject: [TCML] loose NST posts

I have a 15/60 Franceformer that has many long runs 5-8 minutes on old coil. Have obtained a new one and am going to parallel it to power upgraded coil. Noticed the HV posts are loose and would like input on tightening things up before running. Have looked at various methods, heating to melt tar to completely re-potting. Am worried about integrity of loose posts. Any suggestion would sure help. Thanks and will definitely post pics of upgrade when done, this time ! Thanks to everybody at TCML. Bob Massa
