[TCML] Aol and yahoo.com issues

Greetings everyone,

I finally figured out the problem with some subscribers. Lucky for me it was plastered all over the internet. AOL and yahoo have changed their anti-spam policies which have broken many email lists. In short, lists that have the original poster as the sender are rejected if the sender is from AOL or yahoo. I have set up a "burst" list that will send to the tesla list. It changes the poster so that it will say tesla-burst and replies will go to tesla. It's crappy, I know, but the flip side is that if you have an aol or yahoo address, many on the list miss your postings.

There is a fix for the problem, upgrading list software, which I'm in the process of doing. However, it's not something that I can or should do in a cavalier manner.

I put everyone with yahoo and aol domains in the burst list. You can send to tesla@xxxxxxxxxx as always, but now everyone will be getting your postings.

I set things up so that AOL and yahoo addressees won't get duplicate emails. They'll be seeing email from tesla-burst. Once things are again stable I will move them back to tesla and take down the tesla-burst list.

I'll be working on the upgrade but want to proceed with caution.

As always, let me know if there are problems, questions, suggestions, etc.

Chip Atkinson
TCML list owner.
