Jared,

Not quite true.

My insurance agent was in my lab a couple years ago when we switched
companies and the only thing she suggested was that we increase our
liability insurance, which we did. Our town fire marshal has been in the
lab for a TC demo and gave a thumbs up in an on the air interview for a
local TV station. A couple years ago I gave a magnifier demo to a local
fire underwriting inspector when he came for a final inspection on some
new wiring and he loved it. Just a few weeks ago I did a demo for a
county sheriff's deputy and he loved it. I have also had representatives
from the local power company and the local cable company in the lab for
demos and there were no concerns. I haven't had a representative of the
local fire department in the lab...........yet.

I've done interviews with Tesla coil demonstrations on 4 of the 6 local
TV stations, one station 3 times in three years for hour long "live on
location" morning news shows during which we put the reporter in the
cage of death. During all of this I have had nothing but positive
comments from people of all sorts. Not one single negative comment or
threat to shut me down from anyone.

I believe the key to this is to look and talk like you know what you are
doing, practice and teach safety and above all, be open about what you
are doing. Nothing will get you negative attention like being secretive
about activities that most people don't understand in the first place.

Just my two cents.
