yes multi-megawatt pulses.  most times 120 a second (twice line frequency).  that is why the transformer has this cult following.  if it put off a 100 watt bursts nobody would care.
that is why the national labs use the transformer to drive elctron guns to light off deturium for fusion experiments (that go nowhere except into pensions).
