[TCML] Applications of the Tesla transformer

I'm not trying to suggest that we all try and build a TARDIS (although it would solve my storage problems) 
 
The only things I've seen from in the Borderland Science series are about longitudinal electrical waves, these videos did not seem too far out, and were fairly interesting to watch.
 
Tesla seemed to have a lot of things going on, with the transformer as a building block. Although I do get a kick out of spark production, I'm trying to find out what else I can do with the TC.
 
...and maybe "interesting and unusual" was a bad choice of words - let me substitute with "interesting and firmly grounded in scientific research..."
