[TCML] Safety switches

hello all, 

Just had a question about safety switches - will a tesla
coil trip one if its operating near it?
Normally a house switchboard is within a grounded metal box
outside the house, but, ours 
(installed last week, was good beforehand with only breakers
between the coil and power line 
outside) is in the garage where i run the coil (about 5'
away) behind a plastic cover. Is this going 
to be a problem? 
BTW - even though it's only 5' away from the coil its still
(unfortunately) waaay out of striking 
distance...
