[TCML] Frequency of oscillation

This morning I was thinking about LC coil oscillation, AC oscillation, and
spark length. 

Is it better to have a higher frequency of oscillation for higher voltages,
or does this not really matter?

If the frequency is higher then there would be more ring up / down
oscillations per AC 1/2 cycle - does this create higher voltage at the
breakout? 

Or is the total energy in each resonant oscillation less, as there is only
a finite amount of energy entering the system during an AC half cycle?

All this is based on the assumption that the tank cap start to discharge if
we switch from the AC upswing to the downswing. So the total maximum energy
the system can hold is achieved after one 1/2 cycle of AC.

Only slightly confused...
