Yes they are. Try ordering a mached set of four with new sockets, plate
caps and filament xfmr....that's over $1000 alone; let alone a matched set
of four commercial-grade 230volt MOTs, the main mica transmitting capacitor
and all the other perifrial decives required. You could easilily get into
much $$$ to make it happen. Then there's always the question: "Did I select
the proper components?" There goes some more cash! In my case, it has often
taken over a year from first inception to completion of a project. I spend
alot of time shopping for parts. One piece at a time and eventually
finished. Results do vary. I have scrapped many an idea in mid stream, and
ended up with a box of parts! Enough said. I still love building coils!
