Hi Dave, All,
I agree that?the repetitiveness of basic questions?can be monotonous at times, but I also realize that?there is still?a small fraction of humanity out there for whom a personal, human-to-human response is more inspiring and gratifying than a thousand-volume encyclopaedic archive of?complete answers. It has been said that "Learning can come from books, but education comes only?through discourse." Of course, not everyone has a teaching temperament, and for those folks, the repetition can become an intolerable burden. That's why, in looking back through the archives, I see a few people who answer the basic questions over and over, and a great number who say "RTFM!"
As far as trying to distill?what's in the archives to make a Wiki- that would become the life's work of some very special people.?It's the unedited correspondence of hundreds of people on thousands of points over about two decades. Even with a great search engine, right now, it's sometimes like trying to extract the forty-some-odd grams of gold from a cubic mile of sea water, AND it has no "BS-filters". Any attempt to produce a fully democratic FAQ?by bifurcating every topic at each point of disagreement??would?ulimately result in a "Cantor Set" of information.

Jim and all,?
?
I for one have searched the pupman site a lot for info on building coils. I have found it very usefull. I agree that it is dissapointing to see the same questions being asked and answered over and over. It is heartening to think that the people on this list are so commited that they are happy to answer all the various questions. Lets not forget the wealth of information from the past discussions.?
