[TCML] Small 12 volt battery powered coil

Hi All,

I'm moving off the grid in the next month or so. No more plugging into the 
wall and pulling as much power as I need. Overall, I'm very happy about 
that, but now I need to learn more about making HV from low DC. Should be 
fun...

Anyone got a good design for a small TC, say 12" to 24" output that runs 
from 12VDC? I don't want to risk my inverters and generator, as if I blow 
them I have no way finacially these days to replace them. I'll have a fairly 
beefy battery bank. Simple is of course better. We will be talking short 
runs. I just can't imagine not having sparks to show folks when they come 
over for a solar powered hot tub.... :) I have some toobs, small to medium 
triodes. I'll go solid state if it isn't too expensive.
