[TCML] Does Patent 500,630 predate Tesla's coil?

According to this wikopedia. Nikola Tesla invented his tesla coil "Around 1891, which would predate the application for the patent below by a year.

A friend pointed out a patent 500630 that appears to predate Tesla on the
