Bill -
These cores are actually made from Molypermalloy powder
(nickel-iron-molybdenum), not ferrite.
This material has very low permeability, and is used for specialized
inductors. Not usable for gate drive transformers in solid-state Tesla
coils, where high permeability ferrite cores are needed.
