There will be resonant rise to some degree over a very wide range of
capacitance values.  I have found that there is by no means a narrow
capacitive "sweet spot".  And when using a static gap, resonant rise really
isn't a bad thing, unless one opens up the gap wider than one should.  Yes -
a little higher or lower than prescribed LTR values are fine.
