[TCML] Smoke Detector Issues / Faraday cage

Years ago, I ran a 5kw coil in my basement. Using a copper cyl spark gap, no problem. I replaced that gap with a rotary with tungsten, the smoke alarms would go off all the time, fumes from the burning tungsten ??
