Re: Tube question



I checked 1946 (or 47?) Radio Handbook and no listing.  As many of 
these large tubes are thyratrons it might be worthwhile to hold one 
near your tesla coil to see if it glows the signature mercury vapor 
light blue color.

The old Radio Handbooks (pre-1950) have an extensive listing of 
characteristics for transmitting, receiving, special purpose, CRT, and 
other weird tubes- an absolute must have for anyone using old tubes.

There is also a book called "Radio Tube Vade-Mecum" that they are re 
publishing now, with even more stuff.
