Ed,

Nope #64!!  Very, very old violet enamel probably went back to the 20's. 
 The enamel is virually the same diameter as the wire!!! Ha-Ha.  I have 
diamond die pulled wire, personally, and the guy who pulled this stuff 
musta' retired or went to the looney bin after this roll! The stuff I 
pulled went only to #32 and breaks were the order of the day! I assume 
that it was originally made for litz wire or such. This stuff is like 
spider web!  It is not on a commercial spool, but a manufacturuers "cut 
roll".  Of course, it was a joke about winding the big tube!

  I also picked up about 2 pounds of beautiful litz wire #36.  It has 
what look like #56 wires in it (about 12 or more).  I also have a nice 3 
pound roll of very modern #54 wire (commercial) polythermalize coated.  
All hamfest buys (natch!).
