	This "linear" decay was well known to the "old guys" and
was attributed, correctly, to increase in gap resistance as current
decreased.  Will look up reference in Zelenek (sp?) and quote here.
This stuff was all thoroughly understood by "wireless engineers" 
at least 80 years ago - they did their math homework too.
