Try 16 AWG with 3 KV PVC insulation on this size coil.  Terminate with
30 x
7 toroid.  Drive tapped 9 turn primary with .05 MFD cap running 14.4 -
15
KV (AC RMS) at 500-600 ma.  Six to 8 ft. long sparks at 6-8 kva.
