E = primary energy per cap charge = 0.5CV^2 where V is the gap firing 
voltage
and BPS = breakrate.  Above formula is valid for static gap only. 
Async rotaries fire at different voltages for different breaks 
(sometimes peak charge voltage, sometimes less) and sync rotaries may 
fire somewhat above reliable static gap settings as the electrodes 
allow a higher charging voltage before firing by coming together.
     The above formula is an accurate measure of true primary power 
and discounts losses in the charging circuits.
