Magnet Wire Size.

First of all greetings. I am new to the list, I have been reading it
for a while but now is my first post.
	I have a question regarding gauges of magnet wire. I recent aquired a
10# spool of 18AWG magnet wire from a local surplus store, what I am
wondering is if there are benifits to using a larger wire size versus
the 21AWG I normally use? Would this size of wire be better for a
magnifier than a 6 or 8" secondary?
