Others may be able to suggest better tubes more available surplus, but my
HV DC power supply has a half dozen 8020 vacuum rectifiers in it: 40 kV at
150 mA.  They run about $100 new.
Get a copy of QST and and start calling the places that sell vacuum tubes.
