The fact that Vgap is not proportional to Igap. With a resistor, V is 
proportional to I. If you looked on a fine enough timescale you'd see 
Vgap going down as I goes up. This isn't some exotic theory. The shape
of the primary ringdown (no secondary present) shows what is 
happening. It certainly doesn't behave like a normal resistance.
