I'm not absolutely sure of the mechanism either, I doubt if anyone
actually knows but
I do know that ozone damages body tissues by literally oxidizing them and
if this goes on in the sinus cavities your body will interpret this as an
attack and mast cells will degranulate in the area and release
histamines. Histamines are disruptive to almost all living tissue and
cause pain and inflammation. If you remember how miserable you feel when
you have a cold or flu well it's the histamines that your body is
releasing to kill the virus that causes all the misery!
