Well, the story goes like this:  I originally developed the Excel spreadsheet 
for my own use.  Then I sent a copy to someone on the list.  Then someone 
else asked for a copy.  Then I asked Chip to post it on his site, then I think
Bart asked if he could post it on his site.  Then Mr. Ruch made a different
version of it.  To make a long story short, it was originaly intended for my 
own use and the accuracy was good enough for what I was doing.  The lookup 
table that I used was posted on this list on 11-1-96.  I know who sent it to 
me and he commented at the time that he did not have his references handy
to tell me where the numbers came from.  The original table listed H/D ratios
from 1.0 to 5.0 in .5 increments (9 values total).  The rest of the numbers on
my table were calculated by extrapolation.  If someone wants to fix these 
tables and take over the ownership/maintenance of this spreadsheet they 
are welcome to do so.
