secondary coil form

Subject:  secondary coil form

I've been wanting to build a coil for a while and I had a piece of 8 in. PVC
drain pipe laying around the basement so I decided to use it for my
secondary coil form. One end of it is flared to allow several sections to be
fitted togehter. My question is: Will this flare affect the performance of
the coil? Cutting it off is not a problem. Thanks for any help.
