Re: Strange transformer problem



Hi.

	I'm no "magnetic guru", but it sounds to me as if there is some sort of
resonant effect going on here. This would explain your voltage rise
across the pig and across the variac. I can't explain *why* it is
happening, unless somehow the inductances have a natural resonant
frequency of around 60 Hertz and changing the variac setting is tuning
the circuit somehow. It is definitely strange. I would say it had to be
a resonant effect of some sort.
