Re: Disc Construction

Hi All,
as part of my now ludicrously large, expensive, etc next coil I am
building a magneto-compressive salient pole rotary spark gap. The basic idea
is that each stationary electrode has a large electromagnet around it to
compress the plasma into a narrow straight path, hopefully lowering the
impeadance a little, the real gain is that it means as soon as the electrodes
move even a little bit out of line the path the arc has to take becomes very
curved and therefore very long so that the arc does not dwell for so long
after the electrodes move out of line.
When I get these darn capacitors finished I'll tell you if it works...
