wire -- an idea?

For hookup 'wire', especially after the cap in a parallel design, could
one use the same material commonly used for the primary itself--soft
copper refrigerator tubing? Couldn't one cut the tubing to length, then
hammer the ends flat and drill a hole for a terminal? One advantage it
seems would be that the wire would by default be very straight.

Thanks to all who answered my first (very) long question.
