the best I ever managed was about 14 inches - I have a circuit half built
that
should do much better but I've been concentrating on conventional coils.
most of my work was in getting back up to speed with electronics.

Like everyone else I look forward to the circuit details. In fact if folks
are
claiming records then they should publish circuit details.

Mark claimed 3 foot flaming arcs - the details that I have are all I
could get out of Mark - he had a lot of expensive problems with 
the electronics - (try to keep the smoke in).
- not a happy memory!

I notice more references to IGBT's now - as these devices have got faster
they may offer more bang per buck than Power Mosfets.

Duane Bylund - has published the best book in this area "Modern Tesla Coil
Theory" I understand that a supplement is now available?
