If you've got a dozen MOT's why not use a pair wired back to back as an
isolation transformer.  With a total of 8(!) transformers, you could safely
series 4 secondaries.   Drive two out of phase with the secondaries in
series, which gets you 5 kV.  Then, take a pair, with the secondaries
connected together (Connect them out of phase (i.e. hot lead to core lead)
with the cores insulated from each other to make an isolation tranformer.
Hook a third one to the output of the isolation transformer.  Series that
with one leg of your other two .  Do the same on the other side.

Now, you've got 8-10 kV -at- 1/2 amp.  (And a few hundred pounds of iron....)
