a question regarding wire....

hey guys....

I would like to know if any of you could give me an estimate of what a couple 
pounds of scrap 28-9awg magnet-wire would cost me at a motor rewind company 
or someplace like that.
I haven't purchased any before and wan't to know where I can get it 
cheapest(no, not everyone has thousands to spends on coils)
If it helps any, I live in the New England area of the US.
