Two in series would yield a 50kv .0009 uF cap. That might work with a 12kv
30 Milliamp (12/30) nst. At least it would be good enough to get ye started.
I am a believer in MMC caps myself. I dunno why, but I have a .017 uF 50kv
ceramic doorknob transmiting cap that gives lousy performance - (4" max
spark) compared to a single string MMC that put out two foot streamers with
the exact same setup.

Odd thing I also noticed was that the break (Firing) rate for the static air
cooled gap sounded MUCH higher than the gap with the MMC cap. Maybe a low
break rate is more efficient.

I Have dug up some caps, they are 25kV 0.018uf ceramic/mica caps. Are
these any good for the primary tuning caps for my new coil?
