RE: Wanted: Capacitors

Ryan: Use Wintesla to calculate the required capacitance for the primary
circuit.
Then go to Terry's ((It's Stan's, not mine. - Terry)) super MMC calculator
page at
http://tesla.better-dot-org/mmc_form.cfm
Use the calculator to determine, based on NST input and needed total cap,
the combination of series strings and strings in parallel that will give you
the desired capacitance and voltage. Then check out the Panasonic Metal (HV)
pages of Digi-Key at http://www.digi-key-dot-com. The type to search for is
ECWH. For example, I will be using a .05, 1600 ECW-H16563JV in 4 para
strings of 21 each. Gets pricey though. That will run me $215 cause I'll buy
100 to have extra.
Don't forget the 10meg bleed resistors across each cap. At least they are
cheap.

Hey, I'm actually getting to understand this stuff. Thanks Terry.

Hey, I have built a coil that is simply a work of art. It uses a 6" x 28"
secondary and a 15Kv/60mA power source. It is all ready to fire except it
has no capacitors. Thus, I am great need of decent sized capacitors for an
MMC or EMMC. I don't have the pictures of the new coil on my page yet, but
man, it's beautiful - especially for a 17 year-old coiler on his second
coil with about 2 months of experience. :)

	Thanks,
	      Ryan
