Hi Dave, 

Sounds like your adding more turns to your primary? I did this 8 months ago.
It's pretty easy really. Make a nice cut with a tubing cutter on the two ends
you will connect. Also, cut a 1 or 2 inch piece of tubing (or solid copper
wire) that just fits "inside" the primary tubing. Coat the little insert piece
with flux and slide into one end of the primary 1/2 way. Then slide the other
end of the primary onto the piece sticking out and but up the two primary ends.
Use a torch and sweat solder the joint. If it ends up a little messy, you can
simply sand it flush and smooth. About a 15 minute job or so. Makes a nice
solid connection. The only note about this I would recommend is to ensure the
inserted piece of copper fits snug inside the primary ends.
