Heeey.

Sorry this is a late post, our phone lines got cut by the city mowers and 
really screwed things up ; )

We (Aron and I) know for sure that the output arcs of our coil is killing the 
grass. 

We had a breakout point on one side of the toroid on a number of 18kVA 
runs.........most of the ground hits were on that side. Consequently, there 
was a noticeable elongation in the circular "dead grass" pattern around the 
coil.

Also, we had some metal shielding the HV input lines from the pig. This metal 
got struck a number of times, and dissipated the power into the ground where 
it made contact. There is a wide strip of dead grass in this area, that shows 
exactly where the metal shielding was.
